Try this one
The Phillip Noyce-directed video - which features Paul Hogan chasing a kangaroo that has stolen the World Cup - was not treated kindly.
"McPherson cued the cartoon and the message that Australians don’t take anything too seriously. Of course, there is nothing FIFA takes more seriously than the World Cup," he said.
The World Football Insider blog was even more critical, saying the whole presentation was underwhelming.
Dr Crawford said stereotypes like the Kangaroo and the notion of stealing were necessary because "nothing says Australia more immediately and effectively than a kangaroo".

Hope we get it but I think the US will.

Re: Aussie world cup bid...
Why are we bidding in the first place? As I understand it, the correct procedure is to bribe FIFA officials with huge amounts of cash.

If it's money it will go to Qatar.... If its ratings it will go to the USA.... Not exactly sure why Australia should get it, except it would do a really good job and be well organised, The timezones will be absolute crap for the majority of football viewers.
The lure of a mere 22 million Aussies potentially taking onboard Football as the number one sport probably isnt a big enough draw for Fifa to hold it here.
I'm now convinced Qatar will get it.... 5 airconditioned stadiums !! and donating some of the Stadia around Africa after the event is a big lure.... plus half decent timezoneing for the rest of the world.
You never know though.
England or Russia surely has to get the 2018.... I think England may just sneak it in.

An Australian World Cup just makes no sense at all for so many reasons.

Not that they count in FIFA's eyes.

Shame they can't wait and see how the Olympics go before handing over the World Cup to England. Sorry, handing over the holding the competition there, not the actual cup, that's obviously not going to happen.

Russia for 2018; Qatar for 2022.
Australia should give up. We don't have the money and infrastructure to compete with the rich bidders, and our timezone is inconvenient is for international viewers.
