The kids' dad was born in Londonderry (his dad was in the Royal Navy and based there at the time) so it might be worth looking into for them, just to keep their options open.

Re Spanish citizenship, they don't allow dual citizenship unless it's Iberoamerican/Filippino. So you will have to give up your UK citizenship if you wannabe a Spaniard.
