$2000 LPG Conversion
Now that the Federal Govt is offering upto $2000 for the LPG Conversion of used cars and $1000 for new, plus the WA state Govt offering $1000, conversions here in the west should just about be free.
So with all that, who knows some company's that make the tanks, fitters, gas suppliers etc to invest in ???

Heather is trying to say that to convert to LPG you need to install a rather large tank in the boot of your car.
Her main concern is that once the tank is in place then there will be no room left in your boot.
Hope this helps

There's a list of approved conversion specialists on the government's LPG website. The fuel tank in the boot puts me off - wish there was an alternative solution.

I am not convinced that any retro-fit conversion will ever really take off - a 1m wide 400mm diameter tank in you boot will not suit 95% of people, especially families.
As with any product, it is better to include any new technology when built, as the design will always be more coheisive.
Smaller engines, more companies following the Toyota Prius example and investment in alternative technologies is the only way forward IMHO.
As for buying shares in tank manufacturers, I cant see a huge gain from doing so given that for most people the conversion is impractical therefore sales arn't going to go through the roof... but I may be wrong

The only drawback of this is that not all servo's sell LPG.
OK in the metro area but a lot of the country servo's only have petrol, so a
long trip away from the city needs a bit of forward planning.
This'll probably change if loads of people go for the conversion though.

2 years ago I was working in the "Technical advice" section of RACQ (Queensland answer to RAC ) The official advice then was - don't install LPG, its going to be a five-year wonder and will never take off.

I wish they'd spend the money on better public transport instead.
