I'd like to know how it works if you claim your FTB at the end of the year, as we do.....

Re: $1000 payments
I know we dont get ours until we do our tax return after 30th June next year.
Reason being we are rated zero, on our family tax b, by self choice, as our income is very close to the cut off point at which this is paid, and we may have to put in a lump sump in super at the end of the year... even more complex if your on salary packaging.
So if you've got 2 kids, and earn less than 118,000 AUD between you, you should be fine. Unless your eligible for Salary packaging with the Government health systems or a Charity worker on that kind of income.... then you can earn more.
HTH..
Best thing to do, if your close to the cut off point, is see a accountant.

Re: $1000 payments
If you are entitled to FTB Part A then you will get $1000 per child at Christmas.

Re: $1000 payments
Who is eligible for the payment?
To receive the Economic Security Strategy Payment, you must have been entitled to Family Tax Benefit Part A on 14 October 2008. The payment will also be made for each dependent child who on 14 October 2008 were entitled to receive Youth Allowance, ABSTUDY, a Veterans' Children Education Scheme payment or a Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act payment.
