Default $10 Cinema Tickets with Optus

https://www.yestickets.com.au/movierewards/

This offer could have been around for a while, but in the 10 weeks we have been in Brisbane we have used it regularly and save between $8 - $10 a ticket depending upon which cinema we visit. The tickets can be used anytime except Sat nights.

You can buy a pay as you go optus sim card for just a few bucks and so I cant see why anyone would pay full price at the cinema; plus you get discounts on popcorn and drinks.

I am not aware of any restrictions in that you have to top your phone up regularly etc. and there is nothing in the terms and conditions. You dont need to take your phone with you either as once you have booked you make a note of the code and hand this paper in at the check out.

We are off to Chermside this evening to see taken 2, saved about $22 on the 2 adult tickets and large popcorn & drink

To add to this if Balmoral, Hawthorne, Victoria Point or Southbank cinemas are convenient, their full price tickets are only $8.50 all week and $6.50 on Tuesdays.

That's what I was just about to say, we only go to Hawthorne and Balmoral these days - kids are like $4.50 all the time. We book online, pick up our ticket at the little ticketing machine, no fuss and the whole family of five in the movies for around $30.

Great, thanks for the tip.

Our first trip to the cinema in Aus was at the Myer centre, two adults and a drink for $44!

Bupa and Medibank Private and RACQ also discount tickets around $10 but usually not for use on saturday nights.

We just got some for $9.50 each through cinebuzz membership. Thats less than half the door price.

Ouch, once bitten...good you're sorted now..

Another option is a "palace" cinema at:
- The Barracks, Petrie Terrace
- James St, Fortitude Valley

If you join their movie club, adults tickets are reduced for the year from $19 down to $13.50 for you and a guest.

It costs $19 to join but you get a free ticket plus another on your birthday so worth it.

If you want a Gold Class experience with food and drink at your seat etc you don't have to pay the Event Cinema price ($40) you can go to the Blue Room Cinebar in Rosalie Village in Paddington. A lot better and only $17.50 or $21 at peak times for a better than Gold Class experience (imo).
