Looking for advice on Barbados
Hi
My wife and I are looking to relocate in the Caribbean, we like the look of Barbados after being there on holiday.
Can someone let me know what life is like there and especially what the crime rates, and how safe it is as I work away from home and don't want to be leaving my wife on her own if it is not that safe. The cost of living seems comparable to were we live now in the Channel Islands.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Daz

Hi Daz as this is the type of post that is ALWAYS asked re Barbados I recommend you read the threads on this forum and virtually any question you have will likely be answered then you can ask any specifics that are not...I am sure others will contribute to this post but in the interim enjoy finding out from all the other valuable info already available
Re leaving your wife alone I travelled alone to Bim, setup home and business and majority of time lived alone and drove most places alone (I am female) you obviously take the sensible precautions you would anywhere in the world...some get sucked into the relaxed atmosphere and do silly stuff like walk on the beach at night with no one around etc ...my opinion....I feel safer in Bim than in UK
I had an experience where my bag was stolen on the beach and every male local on that beach chased the group....its a community spirit that dont turn blind eyes
A note of caution.. once you decide you want to you then have to jump through hoops to be allowed to..just like if someone from Barbados wanted to come live in the UK

Thanks Dips.
That's will put my mind at ease while I am away if we go ahead with it.
Just the hard slog of more research now.
