Goodbye from me.
Six months after returning to the UK, one of my New Year's Resolutions is to say goodbye to this site. It's a time management thing: I've got a lot of projects in hand and I need to clear some space.
Thanks to everyone on the site who has given me advice which was very valuable for our return home. I've tried to repay by building up the Over-50's wiki list, which I hope will continue to be useful.
We are now happily settled in Devon. We don't know many people yet, so OH, who is used to hosting a big Xmas party, is feeling deprived. So do I, to tell the truth; I'm going to miss my annual opportunity to make snowball cocktails topped with a paper parasol and a maraschino cherry and then persuade grown men to drink them. But next year...

I know what you mean about the time management thing….I am a bit addicted to BE!! Plus, as you say, when one has been helped, one wants to give back, and that's my excuse for staying around, the thought that my comments may be helpful….
Your decision to leave the site and get on with actually living here makes a lot of sense!
