I have had 4 Christmases down under, but not in Oz, in New Zealand.

If you guys in Oz are homesick for a cold Christmas - just head for South Island of NZ. Last Christmas I had there (2004) the temperature was 12 degrees, outside was driving horizontal rain and on boxing day it snowed!!!!

And that is supposed to be their summer!!!

Cheers

Buzzy

We're off to Fraser Island for Christmas and then turtle watching at Mon Repos for New Year. Having Christmas dinner at the posh restaurant at Kingfisher Bay.

Hopefully being surrounded by lots of festive people on Christmas Day will make it seem more real. Not having to cook or wash up will make it a lot nicer too .

One of my happiest memories was going out to visit family in Avalon Sydney one Xmas and getting up at 0600 (jetlag) and going down to the beach for a swim! I was amazed to see so many people out there at that time!! Later on a mixture of conventional Xmas Dinner and Barbecue, - - plus the wine of course!

Merry Christmas soapy , we are having a pool party with friends, it doesn't feel like Christmas but we will try hard to make it like Christmas, I'm still doing the full dinner (even though we probably won't eat till 10pm), then on Hogmany we are hitting surfers as they are having the celebrations and fireworks with 50,000 expected and I still need to have my steak pie and mushy peas (scottish tradition), oh and someone talk dark and hansome to first foot me of course
