My U.K based company will allow me to work in any country as the work I do can be done from home. If I do stay in another country for a few years, they would like me to visit exhibitions to demonstrate our software with the possibility of starting an office in such a country, if the need arises.
I work for an I.T company as a software developer (team leader) and would like to live in another country to broaden my horizons. My initial plan would be for 2 years. Which visa should I apply for (+ which forms) that would allow me to do this in Australia. I am married with an 18 month old child. Any help on a suitable, fast solution would be greatly appreciated as I would need to leave for Australia in October. |
Hi D Reynolds,
You have a variety of options; your employer can sponsor you for a temporary visa or you can apply for a permanent visa. As you have a young child, the only option not open is a Working Holiday Visa. If you are aiming at October you should consider making a permanent visa application now and planning to come to Australia on a business ETA if that visa has not been granted by October. If there are any health or character complications you should consider a temporary visa sponsored by your employer or, if necessary, one of the PQBS outsourcing IT agencies listed by Andrew Hackworthy in his very helpful email last week.
