Re: why???
After a lot of thought and very careful deliberation - we just stuck a pin in the map of the world and we hit Australia.

Re: why???
DH got offered a scholarship and he is an Aussie so it seemed like a good idea at the time. Not so good in retrospect however.

Re: why???
ok now for the serious answer
we didn't follow anyone
we hadn't visited either
we just fancied a new way of life, read lots, have friends here (we discovered into the journey)
we like!
mind you it took about 18months or so to come to the conclusion that we like!

Re: why???
Because name one other country outside of Europe that you can actually get PR in. Give in ? The only other one is Canada and the process takes far longer and imo its just too darn cold there.

Re: why???
Because Hubby had a passport and we thought we'd have a mid life crisis somewhere warm.

Re: why???
such a simple one line question that would take the rest of the day to answer, suffice to say that its as far away from the UK as one can get.

Re: why???
Not a huge culture change (or so we thought)
English speaking....These dismissed our first thoughts of France and Spain
Southern Ireland was dismissed purely as Hubbys ex-wife came from there lol! I love the place, but reckon that living there would be far tougher than being a tourist.
Canada (Vancouver)was in the forefront for quite a while....but the harsh winters put us off.
New Zealand appealed, but we needed more job opportunities....(Tassie ditto)
So AUSTRALIA it was......quite alot of 's along the way, but getting more these days
