Where to watch England games in Brisbane?
... simple enough question.
I've been told by some that 'Arrive Derci' in Milton always has a good atmosphere for games and packs in a good crowd. (Despite being Italian): http://www.arrivedercipizza.com.au/
I'm keen to go - but it'd be nice to ensure theres a pleasant England crowd around. ... Still gee'ing myself up to get out of bed, get dressed and head out at 3:30 on Sunday morning!
Anyone else going to show up?
Any other venues suggested?

if you are going to the pig & whistle for a 4:30am kickoff, you will need to get there before 3am because of the lockout regulations.
Not sure about the italian restaurant and what the deal is there...

The Pig and Whistle on Eagle Street is the best bet, it'll be packed to the rafters with English fans. A word of warning though, doors close at 3am due to licensing laws, be there well before !!!

Also be aware you will have to finish your alcoholic drink by 5.20am or you will be thrown out. So the second half will be a dry affair for a 4.30am kick off.

Make sure you don't attempt it yourself without first obtaining the required licenses, safety equipment, and insurance. And you'll need to get the installation approved at least 24hrs before kick-off.

What are the chances of free street parking close to the P&W around that time of day?
Theres a few spots up on Wharf St - but I dont know what kind of restrictions they're on....
Where are you guys gonna park?

Re: Where to watch England games in Brisbane?
I just happened to be chatting to one of the owners of La Dolce Vita at Park Rd, Milton about this the other day (next to Arrivederci). He said no more alcohol sales after midnight I think and said they want to cater for the serious football fans not the ones who just want to get drunk (his words).
From what I can work out both will have a good atmosphere so I guess it depends whether you want to watch your football with a coffee or a beer. It's coffee for me these days
He also said they line the chairs up like a cinema but for the big games you obviously have to get there early to get one - they take it seriously and are opening for every game for the whole tournament. It's a walk away for me so I'm sold

Edit: Seems to be more replays than live.

I went to the P&W in town for the Australia v USA friendly on Sat night. I parked right across the road without restriction. I guess some of the surrounding streets as you head towards the valley would be ok.

They are also screening world cup games on big screens at King George Square and Reddacliff Place. Not sure if all games though....

Word of warning - P&W gets packed for England games, 4 years ago we arrrived 3 hours before the first England KO finding a queue of at least 200 people waiting to get in!
Parking - be careful they will write out tickets any time, best get a cab.
