May be a little pointless but I need cheering up. Can't sleep at all for fear of my surgery in a few hours (It's nearly 2am here).

I ruptured a tendon in my foot so I'll start it off by saying I'm grateful for the NHS working so quickly x

Good luck with the surgery! Best thing for me is being five minutes from some of the best beaches I've ever seen whilst also looking at hinterland/mountains that are only half an hour or so away. Plenty of other stuff I like/love about my home/area but they're pretty much the same as where I used to live.

Best thing is there's nobody here! Tasmania is lovely and uncrowded but don't tell anybody...

If I had to limit it to just one thing....honestly, the beaches.

We regularly visit the Sunshine Coast and to be able to while away the weekend on some of the beaches up there still feels like a 'wow' moment to me, even after a couple of years.

I could also say the same for the Gold Coast too, which is a tad bit closer for us but obviously busier.

The beaches, and the fact that I can work within 10 minute of home. I also get to walk on the beach if I fancy it at lunchtime 😊

Obviously. This is a normal summer's day on the GC. I do so dislike generalisations.

Close to everything from city to shops, 24 hour supermarket, fitness centre, loads of cafes, restaurants, lake, parks ,public transport, pubs, and twenty minute drive to beach.

The attached.

Ten years in Australia and I still have to take crappy phone photos every time a parrot sets the dogs off barking in the back yard

Amenities, Transport, the people, the choice, but above all the vibe of the place, always something happening, or somewhere to go and do.

Coburg Melbourne.

I get bored after 2 hours on a beach, I do love rural landscape combined with river though.

I'm above ground, not below. Anything else is peripheral.
