What Foods Do You Miss From the UK?
Hi everyone
What foods do you miss from the UK and is it hard to get hold of them in Oz?
Thanks in advance!

Runner beans seconded, decent leafy green vegetables that don't wilt in 12 hours, and that's it. Everything else is available from Colman's mustard to Bisto if you want Ye Olde Foode. Oh, decent pizza - believe it or not the fact that Australia probably has more Italians than anywhere outside Italy and the US still hasn't meant you can buy good pizza in supermarkets which roughly approximate the pizzas you got in British supermarkets in 1985.

Takeaway curry, that's about it.
A few pints in an English Pub followed by a curry would be Action #1 should I take a trip back to the UK. I may even bypass the family
Most takeaway food is rubbish around here to be honest.
I do much more cooking these days (using some produce in the herb/veggie gardens, always nice) so I can't say it bothers me.

I'm struggling to think of anything.
I have attempted to do it in reverse - find chocolate in the Brit food aisle of Coles and then try to remember whether I had it in the UK, and liked it in the UK, then decide, after all, I can't miss it if I've just discovered it...
Case in point: blocky wafer chocolates bars wrapped in silver paper. Not Penguins.
I did grab a bag of Revels on my last visit and eat the lot on the way back home.

You can get them, though they are not as good as you remember them - they skimp on the orangy bit nowadays.

Nothing.
I like the food over here and the seasonal eating habits. Never liked 'ready meals' in UK anyway and pretty much everything is global these days so if you are desperate to go down memory lane there is usually a way to do so.

Most things from the UK you can get here if you look for them - what I miss is not so much the item itself as the inability to get them from any local store when you feel you want one (I'm thinking about pork pies again!)
Which brings me back to Scarlet Runner beans again - difficult to grow over here, impossible to find in any shop, and absolutely delicious!

Must have a look and see if the Canadian posters miss the same stuff as the Aussie ones, that could be interesting......
