Wagga Wagga
So I'm currently living in Brisbane and have previously lived in Perth and Melbourne. The job I had in Brisbane has come to an end and I've been offered one in Wagga. Just wondering whether anyone has nay experience of the place, either living there or visiting?

I've been there once - we stayed at a friends farm just outside of Wagga. It seems like a pretty standard NSW farming town. Could be pretty boring I guess, but the people I know that are born and bred in the area are good down to earth friendly people that enjoy the finer things in life like the annual B&S ball, complete with being dragged naked around a paddock by your best mates V8 Holden ute.

Re: Wagga Wagga
I have a friend who lives in Wagga and loves it. She and her husband were stationed there with the army a few years ago and they stayed on after they both retired in their early 30s. It's not too far from Sydney or Canberra so there's major shopping if they need it - otherwise they're happy in town.

Its under 5 hours away from Melbourne as well, so thats a fairly big bonus in Australian terms if your that close to 3 major cities.
But..... It is very likely going to be the most boring place you've ever lived in your life... just like all of the other provincial cities around Australia. Think Toowoomba but in the Wheat belt.
Some people do like that kind of lifestyle.... god knows how.

Re: Wagga Wagga
Australia has become too city-centric - many rural towns are dying and if they do die, we'll all suffer
Inner city lefties/liberals/greenies/other Australian haters are now setting the political agenda of this country - and we can see the mess that is multiculturalism and PC'ness as a result
We need balance - something we're not getting at the moment

However the exact issues you raise are at their peak in these Cities.... The racism i personally experienced in my Wifes home town where she was raised and schooled was nothing like I've seen in my life.
Here is exactly why I personally wouldn't live in a Aus town with less than 100K people in it.
Bendigo mosque: Anti-mosque protesters face off with counter activists - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
I'd rather live in Bradford, Luton or Southall ......honestly !

Very controversial topic here in Victoria at present Zulu. Bendigo and Ballarat are going great guns and expanding quite steadily.

Re: Wagga Wagga
I reckon there would be less than 20 Jihadis in the whole of Melbourne that would seriously take that view. Thats in a city of 4.5 mill with around 300K Muslims..... Most of those would have some kind of pathological disorder that would manifest itself in other ways if there wasn't a cause to throw their crazy hat on.

ISIS Rupert and the Powers that be, have got you sucked in.
I'll go further not ONE Muslim would have a go at you for being a Saffer.... I guarantee you would hear all about it on a weekly basis in places like Bendigo and Ballarat. I've never encountered a Muslim racist.
