Default Town/Urban planning in Melbourne or Working remotely in Australia

Has anyone got any experience of either working remotely in Australia for a UK based company or for a company based outside of Australia? Can you tell me how that works for you and what tax implications that might have?

Is there anyone in the town/urban planning industry that can help? My husband is a director of a town planning consultancy and we are looking at moving over the Australia. Is there a demand for jobs in this role and is there a reasonable work life balance (i.e. some options to work from home, 40/45 hour weeks and no weekend work).

Many thanks
