Default Is there anything we definitely cannot pack for Australia?

Food items? Artificial flowers? Toiletries? Thank you. BTW, this is not serious, but would I be able to buy Marmite in Sydney? I don't particularly like Vegemite. Thank you.

Weirdly AQIS can't differentiate between fake and real flowers so don't bother packing them. Untreated wood is a no no as are any opened packets of food, spices etc. Marmite is available everywhere.

Full list here but remember that whilst some packaged foods are ok you MUST declare them.

Someone else recently had artificial berries destroyed too.

Declare anything wooden, and any foods.
DOn't bring dairy products, meat, fish, plants, bark, pine cones, bamboo, teddy bears stuffed with straw (thats the old ones, be wary), or rocking horses with real horsehair manes...........

Any inidividual things you have a question about have probably been mentioned on here before so the answer will be here somewhere.

Got told to spray jays fluid on kids outside toys and just round a bit of other stuff, so when they open the container it smells like you have made the effort. might want to try packin your house it might be cheaper.

We didn't use Jeyes, the smell makes me heave. We did spray everything moveable with WD40 though, I think that had the same effect. Jeez that stuff smells good.

Even with a smell of Jeyes they still have to unpack the container and then decide what to look at. After so many years reading threads like this I now accept its pot luck.

Tough luck babe, it was in the container, years ago before you even knew me!! Mind you the air was blue when the importers told me it would cost $60 to destroy a hat with plastic berries on it :curse: Don't think the neighbours ever recovered!
