Well ours is built the same and everytime one of our neighbours has their surround sound system on, it sounds like we're having thunder. The sounds seems to vibrate under the house and it really effects our quality of hearing in our family room. We asked them one night to come round and listen to how bad it is and they let my OH adjust the bass on their system. It's not so bad now, but they could still do with turning the sound down. We lived in a 1900 built medium sized semi-detached back home and the only time we heard our neighbours was when they slammed doors. I think carpeting has alot to do with it, or the lack of here. In the first rental we had here, we could hear one neighbour when he was in the loo.

yep we love the lifestile 10 min from beach 40 min to perth no traffic congestion, locals so freindly and helpful, so much to see and do love holidaying down margret river been here 7 months got sorted with job after 3 weeks off plane bought house within 6 weeks we have been so lucky.dont like lack of good clothing shops, and aversion to daylight saving, restricted trading hours, but we will learn to adapt.which is what its all about.

I agree with that...and it might be a wee a bit of jealousy that some are happy!

Yuk! don't like the idea of hearing neighbours in the loo

We have carpets up the stairs and to all upstairs rooms as well as solid floors so perhaps that helps. We lived in a detached home in the UK and although we rearly heard the neighbours we often heard their yapping dogs and monster cars but hey that can happen anywhere.

Myself and Chief can do whatever we like on our deck and noone sees or hears - unless they are parapazzi-style in the trees.

We must have quiet neighbours, apart from the odd night night noise, dogs barking, car doors slamming we get very little noise
