And, yes, it does feel a little uncomfortable to have our family home become a place of business. Though I can suck it up.

I really dislike that attitude from landlords, if you are that precious then you really need to question whether you should be renting the place out. You have to look at it as a business/investment - it's not your family home if you aren't living there. If the tenant pays the rent and returns the property in original condition then you should be perfectly happy. And any issues like damage then you should have the appropriate bond/insurance to cover any of that.

And be thankful it's not an illegal brothel or meth lab.
