Telecommunication Engineer Help?
Hi Guys I am after some advice if possible.
My partner has been offered a job in Melbourne as a telecommunications engineer however we have a slight problem.
In the UK where we live there is no industry standard qualification for what he does he has over 10+ experience in implementation, maintenance, and data cabling and some vendor qualifications such as Avaya however we are being told that with no qualifications he can't do a skills assessment?
Has anyone else had this problem or could any one advise.
Regards
Crissa

You need to check which visa and then if a skills assessment is actually required for that occupation for that visa. Most sponsored visas are 457 and the majority of occupations do not need a skills assessment for a 457 - though some do.
You would though need to be aware of the issues with a 457.

Hi
Thanks for your response.
Yes we are aware of the 457 issues so we are looking at PR.

Take a look at the TRA website for his skill - electronic equipment trades sounds more like what he does
