Default Taxi driving in Perth

Thought I would do P/T taxi driving in the evening and weekends in addition to my F/T day job. The reason is that I want to rent before buying and taxi driving will enable me to become familiar with many of the areas and get paid at the same time (I hope) before eventually buying. As I'm unfamiliar with the area would buying a GPS be suffice or would it be essential that I knew Perth well?

We have sat navs in our vehicles and although they are great, i still don't know how to get to certain places as i relay on my sat nav!

I think learning yourself would be better, may take longer, but knowing how to get from A to B without relying on technology will always be better. Great you want to be a Taxi-Driver anyway, need more in Perth

You are a brave man. I think you have to start with one of the late night Friday / Saturday licences that obliges you to be on the road 10pm-5am or some such.
