tax return
hi all was hoping someone could help me out.
i recently went to aus on a whv and worked for a month, my taxable income for that year was $3823, of which i paid $1242 in tax.
after i did my tax return i got a letter saying i need to pay $1.45 hehe.
well i didn't think it was funny as a aussie said that i should be entitled to $1242 back in tax as i did not earn enough that tax year.
if anyone can help me out would be greatly appreciated, as i was hoping to get the money back.
thanks all

Do you believe you were resident in Australia? Most WHV holders are not and accordingly pay non resident tax rates. This means no personal allowance for the year and tax at 32.5%. So the numbers look spot on.
