The Aldis down from me was selling it a month ago but no longer have it in. Ive been getting my mum to send me over knorr stock cubes once a month (sad i know) as i just could not find a decent brand here and i use them for pasta and mince. The first time she sent them over quarantine opened 3 boxes to check them and put in a little leaflet telling me what can be sent and have had no bother since..

My mum phoned me last night to tell me my nana is sending me some too

They think its so funny (cause im sad lol)

I've only just got it right after 4 months of trying

Okay, I'm going to give that a go. I'll blame you if it tastes pants!!

It's all in the stirring (well that's what my hubby said anyway )

Just make sure that you stir the cournflour right up until you put it in the gravy.

It can't turn out any worse than my yorkshire puddings - looked more like scones my last attempt, and flat scones at that. Just not had the right knack since moving out here, must be the oven (and not my inability to follow an Australian recipe - why is everything in cups not grams? I like things to be exact). At least a bit of decent gravy will help to hide the horrors.

The Southport Fruit market,Ferry Road, on the Gold Coast are selling the sooooo range for $1.50 for the 200g pots. The have loads of it, but I don't know if they have the gravy granules.

They do have soooo! Saucy, the cheese variety and the chip shop curry one. It is actually the bisto make isn't it? I thought they might be selling off the out of date stuff (cause thats the kind of place it is, like a fruit barn), but the date on the one I have is 9/3/07. So this must be discontinued stock, from the likes of Woolies etc, and I assume once this lot is gone it's gone.

Their telephone number is 07 55321644

I will try to pop in there and check out if they have the gravy version. Maybe a discount fruit barn near you might have it?

make sure your fat is hot before you put in your mix. put the fat in the tins and put in the over for 15 mins before you are ready to cook them.

Nikki,
they still have the chicken down our end and I have about 6 in the cupboard. I have had no reply from woolworths so I don't hold out much hope.
I have now checked out the expat sites and have found some at a reasonable price from britsuperstore, more you order the better the postage it seems.

Sad as I am, I am going to have to order, as it is the only thing I can't live without. I can't move back to UK just because of gravy can I ?

Have had to laugh at you lot...honestly!!

I grew up knowing nothing but Gravox(being an Aussie and all!!) and when I moved to the UK and was faced with this watery tastless stuff called Bisto, I thought my world would end!! I am a gravy lover and have it on anything and everything

But guess what?? When I moved to the UK and wasnt able to get my usual Gravox (as its an Aussie product and, shock horror, I wasnt in Australia anymore) I had to find an alternative...Bisto seems my only choice, which I wasnt too happy about. However I did get used to it. In fact, after 4 years of living in the UK, I actually enjoyed it. When I came back to Australia, it was hard to go back to Gravox...but I have and am now used to it again!!
