SA Police check - fingerprints
I need to apply for a SA Police check but i am based in London.
I know I need to send my passport to Pretoria requesting the Police check along with fingerprints. Do you know where I can get the fingerprints done? I have tried my local police station
but they said they do not offer this facility. Can I get this done as the South African Embassy in London?
regards

My husband had his fingerprints done at our local police station.
Your local police station should be able to tell you where you can get your fingerprints done as not all of them have the facilities. You pay £10 for each hand.
We didn't have to send off his passport to Pretoria though.

We had to go to Scotland Yard in London to get them done. Apparently it is against
your human rights to have prints taken so you have to say they are not being done
under duress!
They did them on their own forms but you do need to add some additional info to them.
(previous addresses etc). Have a look at the South African Police Clearance form. The
SA side is quite quick.
There is a fee to pay as well.
There is about a months wait for an appointment.
Hope this helps

You can get the fingerprints done it the SA embassy. I did mine in the SA embassy in
Israel for free. They give you the fingerprints and a form and then you are
responsible to send them to Pretoria with the fee. Hope this helps,
Mark

Re: SA Police check - fingerprints
After going around in circles on this, below is the process
if you live in London:
1. Go to South Africa High Commission or send them a letter. They give a form to fill in requesting a form! (believe it or not)
2. 48 hours later they send you the form to fill in to be sent to Pretoria
3. You take this form to Scotland Yard to get fingerprints
4. You then send the form , fingerprints and copy of passport
to Pretoria.
5.Wait for a reply!
You will hear a lot of conflicting information. I went to two
police stations before they told me to got to the SA High Commission.
