Casa Del Mar has a lovely beach and it was very quiet during the time I was there.
In terms of my choice I generally automatically discount Malaysian owned and operated hotels since I have had quite a few issues with them in the past. So that rules out the Berjaya and a few others..

We've just had 6 days in Langkawi at the Westin....not a Saudi in sight, all Brits or Aussies.
No rain but lots of haze for 4 of our 6 days from forrest burning but fortunately not enough to block out the sun.
Westin was excellent, only bad comment to make was the room fittings such as grout, tiles, woodwork was tired but we had a note round to say they were starting refurbishment.
Now on last night in Singapore and retuning to cold and wet Mellie

No Saudi's at Casa Del Mar either ..... but there is a middle aged couple from Melbourne, complete bogans, who spend there entire time telling anyone who will listen how good Melbourne is.
It's completely cringing and something you really do not want when in paradise. They need to be pointed in the direction of Kuta Beach

Any recommendations for small island resorts similar if not within Maldives?
The difference being we want to take the girls with us (9 and 5) and most resorts we have been to are adults only.
By small I mean under 20 huts/water bungalows. But still retaining fully inclusive facilities ie
