Hi. I'm after any info on emigrating (to Perth, WA) as a refrigeration engineer, I believe you have to retrain once there? If anyone knows what they wages are likely to be while retraining and then also qualified? is the skills assessment pretty straight forward? Any info would be much appreciated.
Thank you

Hello, assuming you are qualified to cert 3 nvq or city and guilds cert 3 you should qualify for an ARC licence to handle refrigerants (Australian Refrigeration Council) a federal requirement across the country. You will require a restricted electrical licence to do service work. On a state level by doing a bit of googling it looks like WA will grant one if you can provide evidence of sufficient training which may just be your nvq or C&G. Can't help with wages working without a licence but with experience you should be employable as a TA (Trades assistant) but have a look on seek.com to get an idea. If you hit the ground running it shouldn't take too long to get the appropriate licences anyway.
Good luck

Hi. Thank you for your reply. That was very helpful. There's so much to look at and take on board. Trying to make sure I'm not caught unaware on anything
Thanks again
