Default Qualifications in Australia

Good Morning All,

My wife and I are wanting to move abroad whilst our little ones are still little!

In all honestly we're not set on where we want to go and are in the early stages of research!

Does anyone know please, if a BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering is recognised?

I've been an engineer for 11 years and work in the defence industry,

My Wife is going to be working in a school to gain an apprenticeship as a teaching assistant, do you have teaching assistants in Australia?

Thanks,

Tom.

Not teaching assistants in the para professional sense that the UK has them. In Aus they are usually casual and vacancies are in high demand from mums who want school hours work. I wouldn't be banking on it as a paid job of any longevity and qualifications aren't necessary although they can be handy - first aid cert and clean police record will get you a gig in many places if there are vacancies they can't fill. Some states like a Cert III but not essential. Very poorly paid roles. If she hasn't yet started, think about training in something which will yield better opportunities.

Hi thanks very much for your reply! We were asking out of curiosity for my wife really it's not essential that she works, she just wants to, and she'd like term time for our little'uns!

Thanks again!
