Re: Please someone reasure me...Trip to UK - passport question
We had to return to the UK suddenly 4 years ago for a family funeral. We had a 3 year old with a British passport and a one year old with an Australian passport. We were told by the nice immigration lady that we had to use the foreigners que due to the baby's passport.
We stood in that que whilst the entire united nations trooped past us with British passports, it took abour 30 minutes. We could hardly hear a British voice amoungst them. You can immagine how pissed off I was first me Mam had died then I was treat as a foreigner.
And this was Newcastle!!!

If a baby holds an Australian passport but mum is showing her British passport, then surely the immigration people can and should have exercised their discretion and let you through the EU gates as Brits...
There are some of the biggest jobs worths at customs, I am afraid...
Newcastle? Maybe you were speaking English which is foreign there!

Last 2 times I entered the UK on an expired British passport. I'm going to keep trying it 'till they tell me to stop, then I'll use the Aussie one.

We went in the EU queue and had the baby with his Aussi passport with us no worries...I tried and tried to get them to take him, but they just smiled....
