Default Which passport UK or Australian????

My daughter was born here in Perth, at the time we were still temporary residents. We are now permanent but not done our citizenship yet.

As we were only temporary she doesnt qualify for an Australian passport. But as she was born here, her birth hasnt been registered in the UK so Im not sure she will get a UK passport.

Does anyone know which way I go with this?

If you were temporary residents when your daughter was born then no, she is not Australian by birth. She should have been added to your visa at the time she was born, so would have been a temporary resident as well. She will need a UK passport until you all get citizenship.

You can apply for a British passport even if the birth wasn't registered there (we did, but ours was slightly different as our son was adopted). I think your only issue is that, as your daughter was born outside the UK, she can only pass on her citizenship to her children if they're born in the UK themselves. But you've a while to worry about that.

Thank you everyone.
I was just worried about paying for a UK passport and it being rejected as I dont think you get your money back and I need to get passports for my other 2 children.
It's not cheap hey?!
