Hi, i have been lurking away on this board but this is my first post. I want to return to qld with my partner but i overstayed my last visit by 2 years (stupid i know but ..). does anyone know how long till i can back as i was told 3 years. my partner is an aussie so that is my only option as i have no qualifcations.

I would imagine that if there is some sort of embargo, it would only start from when you told DIMIA that you had overstayed. Otherwise it would be like the sixth joke down on this thread

Barb, Who told you 3 years ? I knew an overstayer once, and she was told, by airline counter staff, that she would never be able to come back. Can you check it with the right immigration department ?

CHnJ, I did like that joke, it reminded me of the day that I would have come out of the Army, if they had not refused me when I volunteered. phew, the things you try to do when you are young
