Default Online shopping for Christmas

Hi

Can anyone update me on which UK sites are doing free/cheap shipping this christmas to Australia? UK family are "helpfully" putting money in our UK bank for me to buy the kids Christmas presents... So need to buy using said bank account and don't want huge shipping bills...

Thanks

Depends on what sort of gifts you are going to buy

If its about toys - I have no idea as my girls are in their 20's but

M&S did have free shipping with no minimum order until last week but you now have to spend 30GBP.

ASOS is always free shipping.

Boden is expensive but they deduct 20% VAT so usually works out as free shipping.

Monsoon/Accessorize is only about 5GBP per order.

Strawberry net is always free for cosmetics and perfume and a good service - I order regularly.

Topshop/River Island & Miss Selfridge often have free shipping offers you just have to look out for them.

Net a porter is expensive but it is all duty paid and an excellent service.

ShopBop is also pretty good.

Think those are the main ones I use

Well, you obviously know that Amazon will ship some toys and games internationally. Put in your search term, then when the results pop up, select "AmazonGlobal Eligible" on the left hand side. £2.99 per item + £5.49 per delivery - so only worthwhile for the expensive toys (though they do take VAT off).

amazon.co.uk deduct VAT and ship some stuff here, but it can be hit and miss on what they will deliver - it can be quite bizarre on what they will or won't send. I prefer amazon.de

Wiggle for bike stuff

amazon.com is well priced for delivery if you want to buy via a US site but again it doesn't post everything Or else shop on www.ebay.co.uk and ask the seller if they will send to Australia unless already stated. If it's children's stuff unless clothes why buy it from UK as you'll get such a big bill for shipping bulky items? Move yr money across to PayPal and buy here

It's to do with trade practices - if there is a single, exclusive import licence agreement with a supplier - say Lego - then Amazon UK aren't able to ship because it infringes the rights of the licence that already exists.

Germany doesn't allow such restraint of trade, so is Amazon.de is free to ship whatever they like.

Sure, but some of amazon.co.uk policies are just plain weird. For instance I was looking at buying a Dualit 6-slice toaster (if you don't know anything about this brand, check it out - UK made, top quality, super expensive here). Amazon will ship the white model but not the chrome!

Bizarre
