Any Telecoms workers out there on the Gold Coast?
How much work is there and if you could tell me roughly what the wage is please.

Thanks.

and agree with cresta on 45 work were a sigma is easier. I have 3 wet cutters (small/medium and DW-200-LPS) in the garage which I haven't used since being here.
The guy I work for charges between 40-45 on average (put down 17m today).
In VIC I didn't have to screed but in QLD you really do need to. Not sure on perth.

If I can help then pm me.

Steve
Just read your post & thought TS450? never heard of that one! Looked at my post and sure enough there's a sneaky 5 there that slipped in. I blame these sausage like fingers
$40-45 sounds good I thought the rates down there were lower. I quoted a job down there at $34 + and the guy who actually did the job did it for $22 including glue & grout, that was a cash price though. That rate wouldn't even cover our overheads
Do you use rubber modified for all your work? We use either Cemflex or ABA Glue on concrete, for timber floors we use 2 part Isoflex.

Thought that was the case regarding Rubi but you never know.

As for rates when I first got here I went into tile shops and they all qouted 35-45 a meter.

The guy I work for ( theres just him and me ) has been on the coast for years and I think he's really in with some of the managers because 90% of our work is holiday reno. We rip out old bathroom tiles and sometimes suites aswell and as the investor or body corp are paying they just let the manger get on with it that way they can moan at him if all go's wrong.

Not sure but I think the manger might sometimes get something in his pocket.

We use rubber on floors but not in shower base for this we use cement based and mastic (yellow tub) on walls, we silcone ALL corners. As for timber not done one yet but used two part on kitchen bench top the other day.

One thing I will say is the guy I work for is a perfectionist and takes no shortcuts which is good for me as this is how I like to work I didn't want to work for a firm, we just take our time no presure and do it right first time. He gives a 5 year garantee on his work were most will give 1 year.

The only down side for me is that I'm fast which sometimes means I finish to early which is a bugger as I get payed by the hour. I now your going to say slow down but we all work at different speeds and I find it hard to slow down.
I think I 'm going to say something soon.

Cheers Steve

Although, if you would rather not disclose all your personal details, just popdown what you are happy with people knowing, I'm sure it would be a help.

You should have plenty of work. The Mercs are always breaking down these days.

Most people come on this site for help and advice. If you can only offer insults then don't bother.

How about selling them?

http://www.seek.com.au/users/apply/i...sid=1&Keywords

Suggest scanning a photo of yourself and attach to a decent covering letter/CV and forward to Anna-Marie. Not necessarily for the Selling job but you never know what work your "transferable skills" may have openings for.

PS I prefer BMW or Volvo - the rides to soft for me in Mercs

What about these mechanic jobs?

Hi,

We are hopefully arriving in Perth around September time. I have a job with Talent 2, a recruitment specialist in the resource and utilities markets. So I have a rough idea of the hourly rates and comparable salaries. If you could let me know of any engineers looking or good client contacts out there, as I could really do with hitting the ground running.

Cheers.
