Presumably though it's still valid back in the UK?

This just proves a point I've made before, that you should not believe everything you
are told over the counter or on a public enquiry line at face value.

Advice in writing from a manager tends to be more reliable.

Yes it is but they cut a bloody big chunk out of it to endorse it! (The new plastic
type anyway, don't know what they do to the old paper type) Dean.

With the old paper type, they just write on a blank part of it.

over here on a 457 in Victoria, put in 47SK 4 mths ago (only 8 mths left to wait !). Went to VicRoads, sat in front of a touchscreen computer for 20minutes, and maxed out the theory test (100%).

went to the counter, paid my $120 and got my Australian 10 year drivers licence. Still have my UK one as well, completely untouched. was in and out inside 30minutes. job done.

didnt have to do practical, didnt have to screw around doing anything else - hardest thing was not laughing at the simplicity of the theory test itself !!!

Gerard - sounds like you were at the wrong end - and your horse was really a bull ;-) But at least we got it cleared up....
