Default Need documents certified in Glasgow

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone from Glasgow had to get some things certified. I have rang a few solicitors, but, they don't deal with these matters. Can anyone recomend a solicitor that can do this?
Cheers
Jim

Any solicitorm should do it but they may charge a lot. Ring your equivalent to our magistrates court. The Justice of the Peace or scottish equivalent will do it generally free of charge.

Hi Jim

I use Conveyancing Direct, 8 Elliot Place, Skypark ( just across from the SECC, big glass building ) when buying and selling houses. They also certified all my documents for FREE ( not sure if that is because I put some business there way ) worth a try.

Hope this helps and best of luck.

Look up yellow pages for a 'Notary Public'. Theres loads of them, solicitors love the job cos its p*ss easy work for them. We used two in the centre of Glasgow, one on St Enochs square who was great (did us extra copies for free). And one on Royal Exchange who wasn't so great and kept me waiting for half an hour.

Can't remember their names off hand but if you look them up, theres only one on royal exchange so avoid them, and the one on St Enochs square is directly opposite the entrance to the shopping mall.

Cheers,
JTL

Thanks mate,
Will try all that. I was a little pissed off when I rang half a dozen solicitors and they told me NO!! I guess it just another thing that seems to be a big task in the visa proccess.

We got ours done by the bank manager, no charge.

No one else seem to have used their bank so i'm getting worried now.

When London sent me some info with med & xray forms they had added in (in pen) beside the Solicitor, JP etc.

Well, we'll soon find out cos I've just sent off application last Thursday

I just went into a Estate Agents in East Kilbide (where I work) and got mine done. They were very helpful and cheap (£30 for everything)....especially because I happened to mention i would be putting the house on the market as soon as I got the VISA ... These people smell a buck like a shark smells blood in the water I tell you!

Be prepared for DIMIA to reject the documents certified by a bank manager, unless you are lucky.

Solicitor, JP or Notary Public are usually the safe options for certifying documents in the UK.
