Must-See things in Sydney (holiday)

Re: Must-See things in Sydney (holiday)
Well we all have our own personal likes and dislikes but maybe some visiting Kurnell are looking in the wrong direction
Sure you can look out to sea and admire the oil refinery and the big jumbo jets coming into land. But look in the other direction and you've got Alpha House (Alpha Farm as was) what a beautiful old building, all these old trees that probably saw Cook land, and there during the original aboriginal times, wildlife if you look closely (see the pics above).
Cronulla was nice, strange and interesting for me. Like back in a time-warp. I'm not sure I would re-visit.
But, yeh, this is really the tip of the iceberg. Have got Melbourne, Perth, Darwin, and Cairns on the travel list already

There's a bit of that, bit like the Gold Coast but near the city and national park.

The jumbos float my boat - weirdly I'm into plane spotting. Nothing beats Princess Juliana International Airport

My son's school is under the flightpath for Perth International
The Emirates A380 that comes in at about 5:30pm is a sight to behold
I really want to see the AN-225 (largest aircraft ever built - 6 turbofans) when it comes in next month

I live directly under the flightpath for all the grand prix flybys. So today and tomorrow I'll get F/A-18s...I can actually see the pilot through the glass as they bank over my house! Tomorrow I think the usual Qantas fly by has been replaced with a C-17 Globemaster so hopefully it comes this way too!

We used to live close to Biggin Hill in the UK and when the annual air show was on would have all sorts coming over our house - Red Arrows, F-15s, Spitfires, even Concorde once. Awesome
We live fairly close to the airport here but not under any major flightpaths so noise is never a problem. We do get some traffic though and a few weeks ago a C-17 came over - very low too. A great sight as it banked
When it's hot and windy, we always keep a ear out for low flying helicopters and if we hear one, it's straight onto the DFES website!

If I came back in a future life I'd be a F1 driver or fighter pilot.
