moving furniture
Hi
I want to move some furniture from Melbourne to Gippsland
unfortunately my car does not have Tow Bar so I cant hire a trailer.
Was looking for hiring a ute, but all sites i checked charge +0.33/km and that will be too much for Gippsland distance.
any one know a better cheaper way to do that?
Thanks

Re: moving furniture
I moved from one rural area to another recently, not in Victoria but about the same distance as Melbourne to Gippsland.
I would advise looking at the Gippsland end rather than the Melbourne end. Rural towns usually have a few small, family-run freight companies that run a truck to Melbourne a couple times a week and you can hire them out for removals for much more reasonable prices than what you find in the capital cities.
So go onto Facebook groups based where you are moving to, etc, post and ask, or if you find existing posts see who has been recommended. Then call and negotiate.
