Many thanks guys. Really appreciate ur input.

Here is what my limited understanding of the breakdown (please correct/add)

Monthly breakdown:

Rent: 2500 (570 per week)
Food/General house hold shopping: 1000 (?)
Car (Insurance/tax): 100
Petrol (local driving): 250
Gas/Elec bills: 150
Tel/Broadband: 100

Childcare: 1000 (?)
School fee (new starter): 400 (?)

Medical (4 people): 300 (?)

Minimum total: 5400 AUD
Income: 7000 (net atleast based on 120k)

Am i far off guys? Cheers

Your insurance costs are based on CTP I think. For comprehensive it will be a bit more. You're in the right ballpark though for most of it I reckon.

We are on the LAFHA and get a school grant which covers fees, uniform, supplies etc, so that might be worth looking into...I would say food, household costs might be slightly higher....to be honest, I find living in Brisabane fairly expensive.....

Brisbane is very expensive relative to Sydney I find except the cost of housing. The anti-competitive practices that go on here would make Fidel Castro blush. Dry cleaning and restaurants being two notables that spring to mind.

Hi Aeronaut,

from your nick it seems where in the same field.

I'm currently looking for work in the Aviation field and relocation possibilities,

I'm interested to know also the feedback on others as to salary/relation to standard of living on around 100k upwards.
Maybe if you don't mind we could discuss more about the field and packages that are on offer etc.
