Always try and use a good DEET spray is you are susceptible to bites. We are in a Ross River virus area (you've probably seen the propaganda in Australind shopping centre.

Talk to Terri about her experiences!

Bridie,
Layla (the youngest) is seriously allergic to mozzie bites and we have found that the easiest way to overcome this is to use RID Repellent spray on her(available at most supermarkets and pharmacies) instead of trying to control the mozzies. If bitten she does need antihistamines though, will swell up massively, first time we discovered this when her leg swelled up 2x size and due to two marks on her legs docs at emergency thought may be snake bite.... Here in Busso council has fumication truck going around at worst areas, plus candles outside not only repel them but create great mood . Again, body spray is must as Ross River Virus is major problem in SW.
Also, plant some Lavender, natural mozzie repellent!
