Hi All

I'm am looking for bit of advice of how I go about looking to work in Australia and maybe live permanently.

I am 24 currently working as IT Field engineer what would be best way to go I have already planned to go and visit Australia next year for 2 weeks get bit more in sight.

1. What area of Australia would you advise be best places to look for living and job prospect?

2. What the average living wage salary in Australia?

3. Can I apply for IT job under working holiday visa and able to extend this further, would this be a benefit towards getting permanent visa to live here.

Hey Iain.

I would guess for IT work you would probably want one of the cities - but just a guess. Without a visa allowing you to live and work in Australia, your probably just going to have a good holiday and see the sights so to speak.

If you were going to come over on the WHV, that would improve your chances a little - but not that much. WHV holders are restricted to 6 months with one employer for the most part - check out the DIBP website for all the rules.

So if you want a holiday just head over on the eTA. If looking to stay longer and see how things go, you do have the WHV option. If your occupation is on one of the skills lists, and you can meet the requirements for a successful skills assessment, points, etc - and you want to relocate, have a look at PR visas.
