A little confused - first bub due in November!
Hi there folks,
I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this for me!
I am a Permanent Resident here in Oz (haven't got round to doing my Citizenship yet) - got my PR through Hubby who was born in Oz but to British parents (so has dual-nationality).
We are having our first baby on November 2nd.
So... Mummy will be a British Citizen with PR in Australia & Dadddy will be an Australian/British Citizen...
I will obviously register the birth here in NSW where we live but will I need to send them anything with the registration as I am just a PR rather than a Citizen?
And will I be able to get a British Birth Certificate/Passport for bub as well as an Aussie Birth Certificate/Passport?!
So confused but want to make sure I do the right thing for bub!
Thanks in advance for your help!
Rosie

You wouldn't be able to get a British birth certificate for the child - the child will have a New South Wales birth certificate. The child will be British only through you, not your husband.

Thanks so much - as you can tell I'm a bit clueless!
Yes - I was born in the UK to British parents.
Not sure why on earth I thought I'd be able to get it 2 Birth Certificates!!
