I can see both sides. On my previous post I was about to write - but held off - that I think your job satisfaction is 70% of the key to being happy.
I have fantastic job in a great place which, when I'm really fed up with Australia (have to say that my negatives are really centred on Australia as a whole not Perth (apart from house prices)) make it less stressful.
If I was unhappy in my work then everything else about Perth and WA would become a negative (and the isolation would really become a nightmare).
My wife absolutely loves it here - which is a blessing because we all know that a happy wife is a happy house.
