Laptop As Hand Luggage?
Can anyone advise us what to do with our laptop, should be put it with our shipment items which will take a long time to get to us or take it on the plane? If we take it on the plane can we take it as extra ontop of our normal hand luggage allowance??
Thanks Pete.

We carried ours on to the plane as hand luggage and it wasnt too much hassle. we even linked into the wireless internet at the airport and had a last few words with the family from the airport as we arrived there far too early.

Geeks that we are, me and the missus will be packing a Sony Vaio each this time round - no way I'd stick 'em in the hold. Lot of the planes have cigarette style power adapters underneath the seat that you can use with a transformer. Helps when you're bored of watching 'The 40 Year Old Virgin' for the third time.

If your laptop has a DVD player in it, bring some DVDs on the plane too - they'll also come in handy before you get a TV etc in Oz.

Hi,
4 out of the 5 of us that travelled took our laptops in our cabin cases. We were VERY aware that they were well over the weight limit - so we tried to handle them as though they were very light - LOL. We did have to open our cabin cases and they even open the CD drives. Nothing to hide so no probs (except the weight)
Would not put them in case.
Good luck
Tracey

New EU regulations coming in very shortly (now, where have I heard *that* before) concerning all luggage. 23Kg max on checked bags (H & S).
They are going to the "number of bags" system rather than weight.
Laptops are allowed in addition to the hand baggage.
Check with the airline first!
