Re: Kalgoorlie Relocatioin
According to the following website, you are being offered the average hourly rate in Perth.
Boilermaker Salary in Perth, Western Australia with Welding skills (Australia)
You may wish to contact the Dept of Commerce, either by email or by phone (WA is + 8 hr GMT)to find out about wages and conditions and which award you would be covered by.
Contact Wageline | Department of Commerce
Personally, I would want to be paid a lot more than you are being offered to move to Kalgoorlie.
What am I saying. Actually, you couldn't pay me enough to move to Kal.

Yeah I no but I was thinking of just using it to get my foot in the door. But how I'd survive on that rate leaves a lot to be disired

It could def be a foot in the door so to speak.
The wage is ok for a skilled trade.
Theres not a lot to do out there and your a 6 hour drive from Perth. Personally I would go there but people do.
If you want to do something different and have no obligations then maybe it might be the thing for you.

Hi there
I've been accepted by a company in Kalgoorlie to start working with them ASAP. I'm reluctant due to the location and now getting concerned with regards to the hourly rate ($36ph). They said they'd accommodate me for 4 weeks. Then it's down to myself to find something.
Is this rate the going rate for a Boilermaker in the area?
Any advice would be great
Thanks

The 4 weeks accommodation isn't enough. Especially if you still need to pay your home in the UK. If your just going their to test the water.

I don't have a house in the uk, the only commitment I have is a £200 a month loan. Was wondering if I'll have enough to pay this. I'll be renting a room whilst in kalgoorlie
