Yet another one for the list. We have had our house on the market for 9 weeks now, with only 4 viewings and no offers. Last viewing was 6 weeks ago, so getting a little agitated now. Currently waiting for med requests so we are quickly sailing very close to the wind.
Thought that we were timing things just right when we first put the house up for sale, but it now looks like we were completely off the mark.

We once bought a house when we had two to sell (had just got married, were moving counties & couldn't sell either house so decided to rent them out). The estate agent had tried to put us off saying no-one would sell to us but despite the house being very popular we were the chosen purchasers as we could actually complete quickest.

I'd be thrilled to have any viewers at the moment - just on the offchance that they could borrow from family, rent out their own, or sell their bodies to get the extra cash. Even to get some sensible comments on why it's not selling might be useful.

We've been on for 4 weeks, have suggested open day to estate agents and we're running with it on Sunday, the 2 viewings so far were from couples who were not really serious but kindly arrived on the same day so I only had to tie the kids down once.

Hubby goes to Melbourne on Monday - we stay till the house is sold (I hope) - if it doesn't go quickly we're bu****ed.

Carolyn, good luck with your open house on Sunday. Hope it all goes well and that elusive buyer shows up.

Sign us up for the list. We are now with our second agent. 5 weeks with the first one and only one time waster veiwing . One week so far with new ones but still no veiwings. But then we still don't have a visa yet so we shouldn't really worry.

Been on the market for 2 weeks, had 1 viewer and they have said the house is perfect for them but would like bit more provacy in the back (not heard of trees obviously)
Had DIMIA ack letter today so should be doing meds soon
Fingers crossed for everyone

Mee too.

House has been empty for 8 months. Got a buyer but the process is taking forever. Latest bobmbshell is there is no Building Regs completion certificate for the extension built in 2001 so the sale can't go ahead until that's sorted.

I thought the (expensive) builders would have had to arrange that??

You're local building control officer should have inspected and issued a final completion certificate. In cases where the build/extension is by owner occupiers, then the onus is on them to obtain it.

We have been on the market since early Jan, 10 viewers but no offers. Since over here in oz havn't kept up with uk politics can anyone tell me if there has been a change in stamp duty levels and thresholds. We are thinking of reducing the price.

Thanks for that. Naturally building regs inspections were done during the build. So are you saying it was their "bad" for not following up with a final inspection, or should I or the builders have told them to come out?

So as the politicians say sign up and let us find the real figures .

No just interested/nosey in how many of us there are.

Hi,

Yes, we are also trying very hard to sell, but we have land attached to our property too, which nobody seems to want ! Most of our capital for Oz is in the land so until that sells we canĀ“t even think of releasing the house...
So - thoroughly peed off too

We got ours sold within 2 days of having a poster in our window! That was in february but unfortunately our buyers have had few viewings and not much interest in their house, so we have had to re-advertise through an estate agent. That was last week so fingers crossed we get some viewings soon!!! The wait for the visa was bad but this is something else....we want to be in Oz by July, August at the latest so things start speeding up with the property market!!!

Good luck and lets hope things pick up after the election....
