Internal/Domestic flights
Flying Brisbane to Melbourne on Friday and since this is my first domestic Aussie flight in more than 7 years I just wanted to ask something. Do they require you to put ur carry on liquids in the wee clear bags like they do in the UK? Also is there anything else different here? (No need for sarcasm but I'm not the best flier, see previous thread on fear of heights) I'm flying Virgin Blue and when I flew with them back in 2003 I found the staff hilarious and really laid back when they were doing the safety demo they were practically dancing doing it lol

Make sure you don't take any pen knives with you. I had a tiny Swiss pen knife, under 1 inch, and they wouldn't allow me to take it.

Only seems to apply to international flights
But to be on the safe side I'd put your liquids in a wee clear plastic bag. Pack it near the top of your luggage so you can get it out easily if you have to.

Knives! At Brisbane after Christmas, we had to put his Bob the Builder tools into the suitcase as they could be considered a weapon
Liquids, we had no problem with internal flights with Virgin Blue. Can't you swing your way around a bit further to us?

There's a doughnut cafe at Mel that we used whilst waiting for our Adl flight. You know, the one where our youngest boy decided to run up the down escalator causing mayhem.

Any liquids are definitely OK...no need for the plastic bag.
The only thing they will want to check at security is aerosols so take these out of the bag if you have any.

Make sure they have the cap on as well. Get on the plane early. BNE-MEL is a busy business route so the overheads are quite full and most of the planes are small
