Re: I DON'T LIKE LIVING IN AUSTRALIA BECAUSE...
No, admitedly the OP could have possibly done things a little differently. But its intention was for people to state, in a forum that is mean to be for discussions of living in Australia, what people don't like about living in Australia.
The fact that 'this particular sub forum is frequently mostly by people who do love it and call it home' should have absolutely nothing to do with it. There are obviously also people on here who are having a negative experience, and as such should be able to talk about it - without getting told to 'go home if you don't like it' or 'post it in the MBTUK' forum.
This shouldn't simply be a place to wax lyrical about the joys of living in Australia, it should show both sides of the coin. If it doesn't, it's hugely unfair to new BE members who may be looking to move to Australia and are seeking the pros & cons of such a move.
Please lets not turn the place solely into a 'We Love Australia' forum. I'm sure that's not the intention of it.

Blimey, this discussion has been had so many times.
Do you honestly think that someone who is considering moving to Australia and is looking for peoples opinions, both positive and negative are going to go and look in 'Moving Back to the UK'.
I doubt it. I imagine they'd so what I, and I expect others, have done and gone to the forum titled:
Australia
Probably the most popular destination for British expatriates. This is for Australian Lifestyle discussions. General chat should take place in the Barbie.

But this thread was never about someone voicing an opinion or sharing experience was it.
I really do feel for the people who are so unhappy with living in Australia or indeed anywhere, but at the same time this particular sub forum is frequently mostly by people who do love it and call it home. Thats kinda the way it is. And probably why this thread becomes immediately polarising, which I think we can guess was the intent behind it.

FYI, I don't like living in Australia because:
* My personal hobbies and interests are harder to pursue in Australian than in UK/Europe.
* I obviously do not see my family and friends living in Australia.
* I find Australia a rather dull place; it 'flatlines', nothing happens in Australia and I have, elsewhere on this website, likened it to sitting at the back of a gig. You may have a seat but the folks near the front are having more fun than you.
* Australia is miles from, well, everywhere. You can travel for days and days and have seen nothing but more of the same.
* Australians seem to be obsessed with 'cheap'; as long as the price is low that's all they care about, hence so many run down looking suburbs and crappy little shops.
* Tasmania aside, I find the landscape characterless and predictable.
* Christmas in the southern hemisphere is rubbish. Plain and simple.
* I disagree with those godzoners who will proclaim that Australian weather is fantastic. It isn't. What's great about scorching hot summers where your car steering wheel is on fire and there are bush fires blazing and killing people. Queensland regularly floods. Oh, and it's just had really bad bush fires AS WELL this year. Yep, great weather.
* The Aussies have this ingrained sense of inferiority which makes them unable to cope with anyone not loving their country.
I could go on, but godzoners are never interested really.

How do you conclude that, oh wise, all knowing one?!

Admitedly I'm only making an assumption on what happened with me. As I'm 'guessing' you are with what you done.
I'm not going to carry on with the debate as it's like bashing my head against a brickwall sometimes hehehe.
Bottom line is. I strongly feel that people should be able to voice WHATEVER their experience is of Australia, without being ridiculed and without the sly digs/insults. Of course there should be debate and argument, but at a sensible level.
In my opinion of course

The houses look like they were built by the "three little pigs" and are worth about as much as a bag of balloons.
