Default how long away

hi everybody.. I'm still not too sure on when would i need a "re-entry permit".

i've just gotten my provisional PR probably be in Australia by Christmas. i'd probably be making some short overseas trips and was wondering for how long can I stay away from Australia each time.

the PR in the passport says "multiple entries", so when would I need to obtain a "re-entry permit" ?

I remember you were sponsored via the spouse category, which means that you just received your 2-year temporary spouse visa. Hope I'm not wrong.

Australia operates a different visa system as compared to Singapore. Your temporary visa is a multiple entry visa, and you need not apply for a "re-entry permit", which is a Singaporean terminology anyway.

Doesn't the Migration Booklet 1127 have anything to say on this?

You don't need to obtain any further permits. When your 2 years are up, you then apply for a full permanent spouse visa.

Hope this helps.
