How Do I send small amounts of money?
Hi, I've seen a couple of threads where people are asking how to send large amounts of cash, but does anyone know the best method of sending small amounts? I want to send my grandaughter money for her birthday, but the bank (Commonwealth) where my daughter has an account charges £15 per transaction, which is a bit steep for the smallish amount I would like to send.
Advice welcome.

Could always send it the paper way, by International Bank Draft – that’s what my Nan sends me for my birthday. She does it in Ireland and gets it made out into Australian Dollars.
It’s the only way she can send things like that as she doesn’t understand the internet and the International Bank Draft can be cancelled or traced should it get lost in the post.
When I go to my bank here and deposit it, the cash is instantly in my account (although some banks make take up to 3 days.lol)
Otherwise you can send it by internet banking from your UK bank, your granddaughters bank shouldn’t charge her for receiving money. That’s how I used to pay my Aussie credit card while living in Ireland, my bank charged me €5 to send the money, but nothing was charged by my Aussie bank to receive it.
Good luck.

You can send money through PayPal for free. I've sent small amounts (<£100) at a time with no problems.
