HGVC2 -> HR
Hello all, thought I'd sign up here to ask this question as I'm struggling to get all the facts when I search for them.
I'm currently 21 (British obviously) passed my Class 2 HGV June 2015.
Hopefully looking at going over to Australia on a working holiday visa around Aug/Sep to Melbourne (got a friend out there). Just wondering if anyone knows the full crack with converting (or re-testing as it seems) to get a HR Licence (Heavy-Rigid as thats what I currently drive).
I've seen it says on the VICRoads requirements that you need to hold an Australian Licence for 1 year for an LR Licence and 2 years for a HR Licence. Does this mean I'm ineligible to take my HR Test whilst over their? I'd rather work doing the trade I do and have done for 2 years than having to pick up a lower-paid job to earn some cash.
My plan was to spend 1-2 years out there on a working holiday visa before applying for residency or moving to NZ depending on pending events.
Thanks for the help in advance.

Correct in your license.
Your idea of long term is not possible. Truck drivers is not an occupation eligible for permanent residence

Enjoy the WHV by doing what everyone else does, bar work, fruit picking, backpacking.
Unfortunately your long term plan won't work as truck drivers aren't on SOL or CSOL lists.
