Default Help with semi rural areas (Melbourne)

Not a lot of time to look this up so I thought I would ask the oracle!!!

I have a client who wants a semi rural area to live and so thought of perhaps
Doncaster or the basin area. Anyone have any other ideas - they want a nice area but not street after street. They will be working in the Mulgrave area. Many thanks in advance V

Hi Vanessa

I think they should check out the following areas - all around 25 min drive barring traffic:

Doncaster/Eltham - I would imagine the route would be quite busy (though busy burbs)

The Basin/Ferntree Gully etc - not a bad route down Wellington Road

Berwick - Monash is a bit of a nightmare, I believe.

Each area has quite a different feel. I love The Basin, of course! For me there are a lot of advantages living here - especially having the Dandenong Ranges within walking distance and the mountain villages only 10 mins away. But 10 mins in the other direction and we have Knox Mall and a host of facilities within 5-10 mins.

Wellington Road is fine before six and a bloody nightmare from six thirty onwards Lol the Monash at rush hour just looks/sounds like a right nightmare from where ever your route is.

Also have a look at Lysterfield, its on route and very green in parts!
