Help Needed
I'd start by saying i hope someone would help but reading the forums the site is run by amazing people who offer great advice for free so i know someone will help and guide me.
I wan to move aborad to live and work...... That is my statement.
I looked at America but all i can seem to find is people saying don't do it... It's not what you think it is. But Australia seems to have good feedback.
Financially my family is very stable so i have no concerns there, qualification wise i think i'll be ok also, i have a few finance qualifications, credit management and a trained facilitator, mixed with 12 years of management experience. (Can also plaster, was thinking about setting my own company up in uk but decided that wasn't enough for me)
So, do we have companies in th UK that will deal with all the admin stuff and double up as a agency for work also?
Any advice people would be greatly received, i've only just started looking into this so i'm still wet behind the ears.
Thanks
Chip

Re: Help Needed
Oh if only it were that easy! First off you need to check out the DIAC site (the official Australian Government Immigration website). There's a visa wizard link down on the left hand side. Run through that and see if there's any visa you are entitled to apply for, not everyone is. Tiny steps....
Oh and a big welcome to BE and the Aus Boards in particular.

Australia has more options than USA in my opinion, but still I cannot see a clear path for you. Having dabbled in a few different career paths is not helpful, applicant for skilled migration need to demonstrate skills and experience in one occupation. You need to examine the skilled lists and see if the occupation you have worked in recently is on there as a first step.

Help Needed
Thanks both for advice, i guess my mail could of been read a number of ways. My qualifications are all held with professional bodies so carry points for USA but it's not what i want to do in Oz.. So your comment about floating around is received and understood....
I have a company that are interested in me and I them, but it's a strange set up. I would only work freelance with them as they can not take people on to the books, however work is available..... So no sponsorship and no job in writing... How does this work.
My current job is safe until next year so i have time to plan things without rushing but would like to get things rolling...... I can't beleive we don't have companies in the UK to do the paperwork for you.... Or is they~?
Has anyone created liek a tick box list of the best procedure to attack this? I have limited time and would prefer to pay someone....
Again thanks guys & girls.

if you qualify for the permanent residency visa on your own, that could get you there and allow you to work for somebody or set up your own company if you so wish. You *do not* have to work in the same field as your creds that you would have used for migration purposes - you could migrate as an Accountant per se, and set up a bakery here upon arrival. Your business with DIAC is pretty much wrapped up from the moment you get your visa, unless you'd go for citizenship or want to get a returning resident visa past 5 years of its initial validity.
The second paragraph is actually a bit worrying, in the modern level of information technology your every move is being recorded in one way or another, so falling off the grid and then popping up with a wad of cash somewhere has a potential of raising some sort of flag somewhere.
If you want to discuss your options in confidence, you need to talk to a reputable MARA registered agent, there are plenty around, you can use search functions on the discussion boards and www.mara.org.au.

Re: Help Needed
The above post is spot on. Your points for the Visa are only needed to get you the Visa, ones you have it (Permanent Residence) then you are free to do what you like when you arrive.
But as others have said, it's not easy, and you will need to check the Visa Wizard to see what Visa you might qualify for and if your skill is on the skills list.
It's not a case of "an agency doing the paper work", there are people who do the paper work for you (a migration agent for example). But you still need to actually qualify for a visa first.

Re: Help Needed
I think the OP talks about bodyshops, that find you contracts in your field and handle tax+accounting+billing, etc. etc. in exchange for a %% commission off your rate. It has been pretty popular in the US and Australia around 5-10 years ago, they even processed 457 visas, which government has put a lid on a couple of years back. In '05-06 they used to advertise a lot, now it is gone, so I assume many of them are out of business now.

Sorry what i meant here was working freelance as in setting up my own company and then sub-contracting to another, all taxes would be paid where due.... I'm not here to defraud or not pay my way. If i plan to come i'm coming to stay so it will be straight down the line.
Thanks for responses, gives me a few more things to look into.

Use the MARA links and talk to a Migration Specialist who will give you an initial appraisal of what steps you need to make.
